Entitlement FAQ

Q: I can edit an existing Edition and add a new Feature, and the new entitlements of that edition reflect the feature. However, the newly added feature does not reflect the existing entitlements. Can these features be populated to existing entitlements? For example, a software upgrade introduces some new features, and I don’t want to force the need for a new entitlement/new activation code, etc.

A: The above behavior is correct; you cannot backdate the change to existing entitlements for obvious reasons. However, this can be achieved via a manual process with our Support team - it's a safeguard for existing users to prevent "accidental damage" to the rights already deployed.

We have seen this many times over the years: 100s of end users get rights changes that were unintended, and fixing those errors is very time-consuming and does not increase customer satisfaction.
