# Zenagent MCP

Zenagent MCP connects Claude to your live Zenmeter data, so your team can ask about customers, subscriptions, and balances in plain language.

Zenagent MCP gives Claude read access to your Zenmeter data. Ask about one customer or your whole customer base, the way you would ask a colleague, and Claude answers from the live customers, products, subscriptions, and balances in your Nalpeiron Growth Platform account.

A customer success manager can prepare for a renewal call with one prompt. A sales team can list the paid subscriptions that expire next month. A finance team can check how much of an allowance a customer has used and when it resets. Nobody has to wait for the right report or click through the platform to get the answer.

In this video, Jon Gillespie-Brown, CEO of Nalpeiron, introduces Zenagent MCP.

### Questions Zenagent MCP answers

Zenagent MCP covers the following areas of your account:

| Area | What Claude can find out | Example question |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Customers | Customers by name or account reference, with their profile, contract dates, owners, and the custom fields you ask for | "Who are the owners of Acme Analytics, and when does their contract renew?" |
| Products | Your Zenmeter product catalog, searchable by name, and the add-ons included on subscriptions | "How many active subscriptions have the Extra 50 Credits add-on?" |
| Subscriptions | Subscriptions filtered by customer, product, offering, plan type, status, cancellation, dates, or order reference, with their full configuration | "Show me all the companies whose subscriptions end this week." |
| Balances | Each subscription's allowance, usage in the current period, remaining capacity, rollover, overage, and next reset | "Which accounts are over 90% of their usage allowance?" |

Claude can combine these areas in one answer. A request such as "prepare an account review for Acme Analytics" can find the customer, list their subscriptions, and summarize each balance. Claude Code can also turn an answer into a chart or a dashboard file that you can present.

{% hint style="info" %}
Start with a prompt you can copy from [Prompt Recipes](/zenmeter-docs/zenagent-mcp/prompt-recipes.md). Prepare an account review, check upcoming expirations, or build a dashboard. For daily email briefs and monthly subscription summaries, try [Charts and reports](/zenmeter-docs/zenagent-mcp/prompt-recipes.md#charts-and-reports). Review and share the results with your team.
{% endhint %}

### Connect once and ask in plain language

[![Claude](https://4187600041-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F1go8J6gAWUIjIiE19Uwu%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-f280ba126bd18c22dfb819c17dc02de23e7d177d%2Fclaude-logo.svg?alt=media)](/zenmeter-docs/zenagent-mcp/connect-zenagent-to-claude-code.md)

Getting started takes three steps:

1. Connect to Zenagent MCP from Claude Code's connector interface, or add it with a command.
2. Sign in with your Nalpeiron Growth Platform account. You don't create or store API keys.
3. Try a recipe, or ask your own question. Claude chooses the Zenagent MCP tools it needs, reads your data, and answers.

See [Connect Zenagent MCP to Claude Code](/zenmeter-docs/zenagent-mcp/connect-zenagent-to-claude-code.md) for both setup methods. Zenagent MCP is built on the [Model Context Protocol (MCP)](https://modelcontextprotocol.io), the open standard that AI assistants use to work with external data.

### Read-only by design

Zenagent MCP is read-only to help protect your customers and business from unintended changes. It can't create, change, or delete anything in your account, so Claude can't use it to modify a subscription or record usage.

Every request runs as you. Zenagent MCP applies the permissions of your account role, and it only returns data from your own account. Reseller users don't have access. See [Security and Permissions](/zenmeter-docs/zenagent-mcp/security-and-permissions.md) for the details.

### Supported AI assistants

Zenagent MCP works with Claude Code. Support for OpenAI Codex is coming soon.

### What's next for Zenagent MCP

We're adding the following capabilities to Zenagent MCP:

* Subscription users, so Claude can list who uses a subscription and check each user's balance
* Usage history, so Claude can report usage in earlier periods together with the configuration that applied
* OpenAI Codex as a second supported AI assistant

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.nalpeiron.com/zenmeter-docs/zenagent-mcp/zenagent.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
